FIRE CODE INFORMATION

The Grayson County Fire Code will ensure that all commercial buildings, public buildings and multifamily buildings within the unincorporated areas of Grayson County meet the minimum standards and requirements to reduce the risk of loss in property and life and to provide citizens with safe environments to live, work and play.

2021 International Fire Code

Fire Code

Grayson County has adopted the 2021 International Fire Code with local amendments to be known as the Grayson County Fire Code. 

The Grayson County Fire Code will be applied to all new construction or substantial improvements of commercial buildings, public buildings and multifamily (4 or more) dwellings. Beginning September 5, 2023, all new construction of these buildings, in the unincorporated areas of Grayson County will be required to have a construction permit before the project can begin.
