Families are the heart of any
community, and educational programs serving the needs of Texas' Youth and
families are at the heart of Texas AgriLife Extension work.
The Extension "learning-by-doing"
method has a history of success in providing individuals and families with
the research-based knowledge they need for health, financial security and
self-sufficiency.
The Family and Consumer Sciences program
reaches out to families in rural, urban and suburban communities with
education for building successful life skills, enhancing nutrition and
food safety, promoting healthy lifestyles, increasing self-sufficiency,
strengthening the volunteer workforce and developing future leaders.
Extension Family and Consumer Sciences
educational programs provide Texans the information they need to handle
life changes, bring them together with friends and neighbors who share
their interests and empower them to make positive changes for themselves
and their families. Extension Family and Consumer Sciences programs
are changing Texas by changing families -- for the better.
