PROCLAMATION
|
| ADOPTING AN OFFICAL FLAG FOR GRAYSON COUNTY, TEXAS AND DESCRIBING THE SAME. |
|
WHEREAS,
|
| ON THE 13TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1995, the Grayson County Sesquicentennial Committee, through its
representatives, presented to the Commissioners Court of Grayson County a Proposal for Establishment of an
Official Flag for Grayson County, together with a detailed description of the proposed flag; and |
|
WHEREAS,
|
| SAID PROPOSAL AND DESCRIPTION were received by the Court and ordered retained in the Office ot the
County Clerk, available for inspection by any interested citizens, for an appropriate period of time during which
objections and/or alternate proposals could be registered; and |
|
WHEREAS,
|
| No objections and/or alternate proposals have been made known to the Court, and the Court finds that the
Proposal presented describes and depicts a dignified and appropriate emblem to represent Grayson County; |
|
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED:
|
| THAT THE PROPOSAL for Establishment of an Official Flag for Grayson County be, and the same is hereby,
approved and adopted; The Flag described in the Proposal is hereby Established as the Official Flag of Grayson County, Texas, and shall
remain so until such time as the Commissioners Court of Grayson County shall see fit to repeal this Proclamation
by its written order; and
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED the Official Flag of Grayson County hereby established may be displayed on all
lawful occations while observing proper flag etiquette, but shall not be used in commercial or political advertising
or promotion; and all citizens are encouraged to treat the flag with the respect and dignity befitting one of the
great Counties of Texas.
