Information Technology Services

The Grayson County Information Technology department provides a wide variety of services resulting in a "Turn-Key" operation for Grayson County.  A summary of those services are listed below.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT
We provide management of county client connectivity incorporating Category (5 & 6) wiring, Fiber Optics wiring, remote dial-in services, DSL Services, T1 services and High Speed Wireless services.  We currently have two short-haul broadband high-speed wireless connections; (1) Point-to-Point between Grayson County and the Grayson County Health Department and (1) Point-to-Multi-Point between Grayson County via the North Texas Regional Airport / Perrin Field Terminal and the Airport Maintenance Building, Sheriff's Low Risk Detention Center and the Community Supervision Annex buildings. Our Internet Service is provided via Fiber through CableOne.

GRAPHIC ARTS
We provide a wide range of computer related graphic arts for County related special projects and Web Site services.

PUBLISHING SERVICES
We provide publishing of proposals and technical manuals.

SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
We provide security administration and management of a Multi-Layered, Multi-Level Secure Intranet and Wide Area Network. Included are systems restricted access management, Intrusion Prevention System management, Firewall hardware management, Internet Electronic Mail Gateway management and third party Firewall Proxy software management.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
RPG/COBOL programming for applications development under the AS400 to include: Tax Collections, Voter Management, Accounting & Payroll, Purchasing & Inventory and Billing sub-systems.  This is currently being phased out.

Microsoft Access programming for general management program automation to include: Constable automated Activity Tracking program, Tax Office Daily Management Program, Sheriff's Personnel Training Program, Grayson Governmental Data Center automated Management and Inventory Program, Domestic Violence Historical Tracking program, Grayson County Health Department Indigent Health Care automated client history and forms management program, Sheriff's Sex Offender and Property Evidence Tracking program, Purchasing Office Daily Management Program, Departmental Purchase Requisition tracking program, Health Department Inventory Management Program and Automated District Courts Docket program.

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION
We provide administration of a Multi-Layered, Multi-Level Secure Intranet and Wide Area Network.  Primary network is an Ethernet based network with integrated seamless AS400 mainframe, RS6000 UNIX, UNIX X-Windows, OS2 Warp, Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and Windows NT platform sub-systems connectivity.   In addition, all Intranet clients have full Internet and Internet Mail connectivity 24 hours per day, (7) days per week. We also provide continuous centralized virus scanning and individual System Data backups.

SYSTEMS INSTALLATION
We provide systems and systems related equipment/software acquisition, receipt, build up, bench check, delivery, installation, training and follow-up support for all county clients.

TECHNICAL SERVICES
We Provide client systems and related equipment follow on support, periodic preventative maintenance, troubleshooting,  securing repairs and component or system replacement.

TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS
We provide profiling client needs and the technical solutions for equipment and software necessary to support those needs.

WEB SITE HOSTING AND MANAGEMENT
We provide complete independent management of a living Public Information Web Site supporting Grayson County  Texas.  Web site development is accomplished using Microsoft Front Page software running on a Gateway Windows 2003 Server.
